I am one of two writers to speak of Christ’s birth,
I was born a Gentile, for what it is worth.
I tell of shepherds, the lowest of the low,
Visited by angels, invited to the show,
While those of noble birth, Herod and Caesar,
Were informed of nothing, not even a teaser.
Who am I?
(Adults, I include a little bit of "info" about the person or thing when I reveal the answer. Good time for a little catechism! You can have your children check the answer in the morning even if you already know that they solved it correctly.)

Luke!
Only Luke and Matthew have accounts of Jesus’ birth. Mark's gospel, the first to be written, begins with John the Baptist preaching, preparing the people for Jesus' ministry. It skips over Jesus' early life entirely. The first Christians were concerned only with the Resurrection - the event that changed history - and with Jesus' return and the Kingdom of God. Later, when Jesus' 2nd coming seemed delayed, people began to wonder about Jesus' birth.
Luke also wrote the Acts of the Apostles.
