I am a holy city, important to the Jews,
You will know me, too, you who sit in the pews.
The Temple is here, the holiest of places,
The Romans came here to make me head of their bases.
Herod lived here, and to me the kings came,
But Christ was not born here; he didn’t seek my fame.
What am I?

Jerusalem!
Jerusalem, the most holy city, is not the site of Jesus’ birth, but it IS the site of his death and resurrection. We remember that we are not Christians because of his birth, but because of his death and resurrection. Easter then, is our greatest feast, not Christmas.
